Today students worked on setting the stage for tomorrow, so to speak. We're still looking at communication, specifically speaking. We'll be covering how our word choices sometimes communicate as much about us as the actual ideas we're expressing (and sometimes, more). To prepare for that, we've been looking at old slang to set up the mind experiment tomorrow (which will be the journal topic): what would happen if some new student joined GPA and eschewed completely the contemporary slang of her peers and instead threw around slang like "gnarly" and "gag me with a spoon?" We'll be continuing this tomorrow.
On a side note, if your scholar has a 0 in the gradebook for the "Active Listening Questions" assignment from last week, it's likely because he or she didn't put his/her name on it. I have approximately 25 assignments with no name on them. That's a good initial place to look.
