“Thank You Ma’am” as Anchoring Text

After having student-led mindfulness sessions,

A student chooses and leads the mindfulness exercise today

all students worked on our text for the week, "Thank You, Ma'am" by Langston Hughes. We'll be using it to help us create a successful initial Socratic seminar tomorrow, and we'll return to it throughout the week as we look at academic skill of inferring Wednesday and again on Thursday for character development.
