Today we took our first steps to creating SMART goals, something we've been reading about and discussing all week.
We went over some examples of poor SMART goals:
- "I will improve my writing skills by reading more books."
- "I will get better grades in math this semester."
- "I will raise my science grade from a C to an A in one week."
- "I will finish all my homework assignments… eventually."
- "I will do more studying to improve in English."
- "I will spend two hours each night studying art history so I can get an A, even though I only need to focus on math and reading for promotion to the next grade."
After making sure everyone understood what could go wrong, we began working on our own smart goals. We'll be finishing them up tomorrow.
