Students went over the first journal grade they got back today. There are a few students whose journals I haven't checked, but I'll finish them up next week.

After we went over the grades and what they meant, reviewing the rubric in the process, we had a now-typical Friday class: it's critical thinking day, so we're still playing hearts. We'll add logic puzzles and other games into the mix as we go along, but for now, we're sticking with hearts. Today, though, students didn't just play hearts: they had to discuss some of their decisions in the game, namely which cards they passed and why.

Yearbook students got a chance to talk with GMC students who'd already created a yearbook and look at my yearbooks from high school. Things have certainly changed a lot since the late eighties -- especially the amount of hair on my head...
