Like our A-day students yesterday, our sixth-grade B-day students are beginning to think about what they want to accomplish during our first quarter and how they can set meaningful goals to help them get there. Along the way, students have been introduced to different learning strategies they may encounter throughout their school experience. This week, they participated in a jigsaw reading activity, working in small groups to explore different sections of an article about effective goal setting before sharing what they learned with their classmates.

B-Day students continued our jigsaw reading activity today by coming together in new groups to share what they learned. After reading their assigned sections and working with their original groups to develop summaries, students took on the role of teacher, explaining their portion of the text to classmates who had read different sections. This gave students the opportunity to practice collaboration, communication, and comprehension while working together to piece the entire text together.

We'll begin setting our actual goals on Monday.
